How are the CBC Awards different from other book award competitions?

CBC Awards is the only book competition that pays tribute to books and essays that teach character-building lessons through fiction and nonfiction writing. Our goal is to make the world a kinder, safer place by recognizing themes related to honorable living.

If I become a CBC gold, silver, or bronze winner, what awards and benefits will I receive?

Gold winners will receive a radio interview with Cyrus Webb. Gold, silver, and bronze winners will receive beautifully designed seals for their book covers, a certificate of award, a press release sent to thousands of media outlets, articles sent to several article-share sites, presence on our Web site and social networking sites, and overall recognition for a job well done.

What books are eligible to enter the CBC Awards competition?

Books that have a copyright date of 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012.

What categories of books will be awarded?

All CBC Award entrants must weave a message of honor, decency, and integrity within one of our many book categories. We accept children’s book; juvenile fiction; juvenile nonfiction; adult fiction in a variety of categories (i.e., westerns, military/war, mystery, horror, romance, and more.); adult nonfiction in a variety of categories (i.e., self-help, sports, history, biography, memoir, parenting, and more). What are the entrance fees for the CBC Awards?

$75 for early enrollment (per book/category) – November 1, 2011 to February 28, 2012
$85 for mid-enrollment (per book/category) – March 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012
$95 for final enrollment (per book/category) – July 1, 2012 to October 31, 2012
Feel free to enroll more than one book at stated rate per book or enroll one book in more than one category at stated rate per category..

What important dates should I know about?

2012 Contest

  1. Early enrollment: November 1, 2011 to February 28, 2012 ($75 early enrollment)
  2. Mid-enrollment: March 1, 2012 to June 30, 2012 ($85 enrollment)
  3. Final enrollment: July 1, 2012 to October 31, 2012 ($95 enrollment)
  4. Winners announced January of 2013

How do I enroll in CBC’s Award competition?

Just fill out our entrance form (click here for entry form), choose your category or categories (click here for categories), and submit. Immediately after submission, you will receive a message that gives you options for payment (PayPal and various credit cards). After payment is concluded, you will receive a message that gives you instructions for starting the process.

Please tell us about your judges and judging criteria.

The CBC Awards judges’ volunteer panel is comprised of published authors, writers, publishers, editors, professionals, experts in a variety of fields, and prolific readers. They will be judging based on the following criteria: (1) character-building message; (2) writing quality and style; (3) creativity/originality; (4) interior, front cover, and back cover design; (5) editing and proofreading quality.

What is CBC’s criterion for content?

Messages that are designed to uplift individuals and society by promoting honorable, decent, and responsible behavior.
